January blows

Progress is 3 steps forwards and two steps back, or is it vice versa?
Discussions held today with the rotavator owner,Pepe,as to when the onion field will be ready.
The ground is still too wet to work, and low and behold we had a light drizzle of rain tonight- just super!!
Seed potatoes bought, well some to get started. Egyptians and early yellows.Peas to be sown tomorrow.

Check your cauliflowers for green maggots,they can be picked off by hand.

Wet Sunday

The rain falls steadily and has for the last 2 days. The soil is wet- too much clay here for my liking-it will take a few days to dry out.Nothing that a few lorry loads of organic dynamite won't cure.
We wait to plant onions.
